Lee Hodson v Peterhead - Adept or inept?

Recommended Posts

He seems to be the "quiet" type of player that we once had in the likes of Stuart Munro or Stephen Wright.

To be fair, Hodson isn't a left-back and more of a stop-gap there than anything else. But if he's half as good as my hero Munro then we're laughing...

It's hard to judge his defensive qualities against Peterhead but his stats certainly seem to show a competent player whom we can rely on as back-up in the full-back roles where required.

He seemed okay in the position and is obviously a signing that will be of great use.

Glad to hear Frankie was a great admirer if Stuart Munro as I thought he was as good as anyone we have ever had at left back and highly underrated.

Given that, as you say, he is all right foot, which limits his ability to cross into the box, as per Wallace, I thought it was a very sound performance. It would be interesting to know his average pass distance, which I think will be only 10-15 yards and undoubtedly helped his 100% completion rate. He is obviously a right back but can stand in, on the left, the real question is can he displace Tavernier from the team? It looks like Tavernier has stepped up his game, knowing that there is now real competition for his place.
