Martyn Waghorn Injury

Recommended Posts

I doubt we'll see him again until next month but fingers crossed he's back early.

A good chance for Dodoo and MOH to stake a claim though.

It really is an excellent opportunity for Dodoo to stake a claim although I reckon we'll see O'Halloran given the nod first.

Except for loanees and very exceptional youngsters, a guy in his twenties will generally get the nod before a teenager, especially when the latter has just arrived without that much of a track record. I think the most we can expect for Dodoo is to be gradually introduced into the first team, grooming him for the next year or two. He can fast track that simply by showing he's better than the other choices to replace Waghorn - if he has that in him.

I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of O'halloran and Forester; it's been hard to tell if they are any good so far.

Just thinking that after last time he's learned not to exacerbate it and just pull up and go off, with ice etc put on immediately. So it might not have been as big a pull as it looked, and quick treatment could mean it heals a lot sooner. I suppose you'd still expect about a month as he'll have to rest for a while and then rehabilitate it for a while.

Here's hoping he surprises us.

Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn to have scan on hamstring after pulling up in draw with Hamilton

Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn is still awaiting a diagnosis on his hamstring injury but manager Mark Warburton has reported major improvement.

Waghorn left the pitch distraught on Saturday after pulling up with hamstring pain late in Rangers' 1-1 home draw against Hamilton in their Premiership opener.

Warburton said at his media conference: 'He's having a scan (on Tuesday). He's recovering well, hopefully.

'Whether it was nerve-related, we will have to wait and see.

'You can't tell but he certainly feels a lot more comfortable last couple of days than immediately after the incident, so hopefully it has calmed down.

'If it was spasm-related then we will find out.'
