Rangers v Hamilton - Our mission, should we choose to accept it...

Cracking goal from Crawford. But poor defending.

When our tempo is this slow we make it far too easy for our opponents to defend against us because all the play is right in front of them. We need a higher tempo, quicker passing, more forward support and better movement.

Hamilton's press has been really impressive -- compact 4-3-3, covering the man and the space -- but we must do better; we must be quicker. There's little connectivity between the midfield. The only out-ball is wide which plays into Hamilton's hands, and then we can't move the ball up-field. We need more movement from Kranjcar, which is unlikely because he's too slow and cumbersome -- sublime ability with the ball, though -- or even just better positioning in the half-space to facilitate the movement of the ball forward; Holt or Windass would be better.

Would Kranjcar not be better as a Deep-Lying Playmaker? So we get his passing ability but he wouldn't have to move as much, like Pirlo? I'm not sure Barton is the right man to cover/support that though...

Frustrating.

Why are there two Rangers-men in the studio, but two trolls at the micro?

We will see this scenario more often this season: the opponents at the heels of our creative players and taking one of their couple of chances, prefferably with goals that they won't score again.

We DO need Waghorn through the middle, with O'Halloran on the right (Miller out), and we DO need more tenacity, creativity, and pace through the middle with Forrester (Kranjcar out). This would also give McKay some more space.

Wonder how many red cards we will see today, given the amount of tackles flying in now.

NB: We should have had at least one penalty ... and was the ball's whole size over the line at the beginning?

Even if we do play well going forward, we're always going to drop points with a defence as poor as this. Football is a balanced sport; I feel like we've gone from one extreme to another.

Defensively we are absolutely appalling and this is now a critical concern about Warburton. We would get torn to shreds in Europe against anyone.

I'm not sure why you keep banging on about Europe SBS. It's irrelevant right now. But the defense is howling. Today will hopefully convince the Club to open the checkbook for a quality CB.
