Recommended Posts

RANGERS have today won the 2016 Scottish FA Championship Fair Play Award for last season’s campaign.

Following the compilation of the 2015/16 Review of Player Misconduct, the Gers were named in first position ahead of Falkirk and Greenock Morton in second and third place respectively.

The Light Blues received sixty cautionable offences and played in thirteen matches with no misconduct. A total of 186 disciplinary points were incurred through the campaign which lasted fifty games through league and cup matches.

Rangers had an average of 3.72 disciplinary points per match through the season, ahead of second placed Falkirk on 4.15 and below the league average of 5.3 points.

Gers boss Mark Warburton was happy to hear news of the award and sung the praises of his squad for their professionalism last season. He said: “We’re delighted with the award.

“It speaks volumes for the quality of the team and their approach to the game.

“We had a very successful season last year and we showed great discipline throughout the ranks and we’re delighted with that.”

Throughout the season, the Gers only received one sending off with Andy Halliday being awarded a second yellow and dismissed against Morton at the end of January.

Sorry folks, but that must be a hoax. Scum FC not amongst the first three teams is simply not possible. There must be a conspiracy at the highest level, I tell you ...

Given they weren't in the Championship isn't is hardly surprising..... :ninja:
