Ban from the Scottish cup

Recommended Posts

The current trend seems to be a general increase in 'trouble' or anti-social behaviour at the football (I'd class trouble as violence and A-SB as other) and it wouldn't surprise me greatly if as you say the Scottish Government discussed/try to implement more ineffective legislation that would actually make matters worse.

What should be pushed for within or at the edges of the independent commission is getting rid of the current unworkable legislation that has the Polis more interested in song lyrics and videos. Disband the 'Thought Police' Dept., get rid of the police spindoctors, do your job and take responsibility where necessary instead of making up excuses.

Agreed. Unfortunately, Saturday's events have given the Scot Gov an excuse to defend the hugely flawed 2012 Act.

Sorry for your players being hassled. I believe Lee Wallace had a swing at him, which is terrible, and some verbally abused and pushed. Not good.

There is 'limited liability' for clubs in Scotland; teams cannot be held responsible for their fans' behaviour. I would expect fines along the lines of the last Hampden riot, although I fail to see any culpability on Hibernian FC's part. or indeed, Rangers FC part.

It's a purely criminal matter which has no sporting sanctions attached. If there wasn't limited liability, and we are truthful, then the old firm would be docked 25 points a season and be playing in front of closed stadiums.

The whole idea of bans etc is frankly preposterous and will melt away in the coming weeks.

The fault lies with the security of the event. We know football fans can behave like maniacs. This is why we pay so heavily for security. It was a security failure first and foremost. A SFA failure. They can't organize a cup draw. They can't organize a final.

Anyway, I wish you all the best in the spfl next season.

Funny how every other clubs supporters scream for Rangers blood when we supposedly stray from the straight path but scream innocence when they are in the same or worse position. Don't forget your club and supporters are still shouting for titles to be removed from us. Rangers were being raped by a criminal gang and your claty little club supporters and chairman were one of the leaders in the fight to have us demoted out of the SPL.

Sporting integrity was the call. Where was\is the sporting integrity from your club leaders who have not even bothered to contact Rangers to apologise for the assaults on our players.

Should your club represent Scotland in Europe. No! Your fans cannot be trusted to behave properly and your club find it okay for them to enter the field of play in the name of over exuberance.

Your club should also be banned from next seasons cup. After all a player misses the next game when he commits a foul.

There was a lot more than that and this seems like an attempt to play down the assaults.

If there is limited liability then does that suggest no punishment for Hibs? The claim that there is a lack of culpability on behalf of Hibs for assaults on Rangers players by Hibs fans is disgusting as was the initial attempts by the club to deny them.

Yet another attempt to equate assaults on players to singing. Dreadful.

It's not preposterous as it should happen. There should be some meaningful punishment on Hibs and the fact that you're trying to minimise the incidents by claiming this shows your attitude to the whole thing. I'm sure you are correct that it will all melt away because it happened to Rangers but that 's just a fact of life in modern day Scotland, but if it was the other way around then we would not be hearing the last of it for years.

So it's not the fault of the Hibs fans? Bang goes the last part of your credibility.

I think it's an opportunity to have it ripped up or heavily ammended.

If something isn't working (listen to police, judiciary, football fans, other political opinion) you can either change it or stick your head in the sand, up the stakes and make it worse for yourself.

I always had the impression that Hibs were about the worst in Scotland for the violence of their "casuals" - The Capital City Service (CCS). Surely strict liability would affect them more than anyone?

I think the main outcome of strict liability would be opposition fans with their ears glued to the radio / TV, desperately trying to hear things to be offended by.

Yup, per head of support, we probably have the most heid the baws. Some of the casuals are still going; 50 years old, twenty stone, pink shirts, purple faces....

I totally understand everyone is raging btw. Any support would be after attempted assaults and manhandling. It's a shame it's overshadowed the game. You had your foot on our necks and you let it go. Still, Warburton has got most things right this season. It will be interesting to see how he progresses.

I'll sign off and hope you have a decent 2016/17 season

Not one mention of the trouble caused by hibs fans at one of the semi finals. There was large scale fighting in aikenhead road. Police separated them eventually but as usual when it's non old firm no arrests made all just shoved on the buses and allowed to leave. Two girls were kept separate and escorted to the train station by two officers because they had been attacked by their own
