Rangers Heading To America For Pre-Season

Recommended Posts

RANGERS will prepare for their return to top flight football in 2016/17 with a pre-season trip to America this summer.

Mark Warburton’s squad will travel to Charleston, South Carolina for a training camp from 26 June to 8 July, which also includes a friendly against Charleston Battery.

The United Soccer League side, who play in the Eastern Conference, will host the Light Blues at their 5,100 capacity MUSC Health Stadium on Wednesday, 6 July.

Coached by ex-player Mike Anhaeuser, Battery will provide good opposition for Rangers who will spend 10 days at their training base in Charleston.

Rangers Manager Mark Warburton commented: “We are delighted our pre-season programme is now confirmed and we look forward to travelling to America in late June.

“We will enjoy 10 days of warm weather training in South Carolina and play Charleston Battery on 6 July before we return to Glasgow for the start of the 2016/17 campaign.

“Auchenhowie is a fantastic facility but taking the players and staff away for pre-season will be important as we get ready for Premiership football once again.”

RangersTV and rangers.co.uk will have all the latest news from the pre-season trip and for more information on ticket sales for the game visit http://www.charlestonbattery.com.
