Going by the above figures...if Hardie gets the same service Griffiths gets at Celtic then Hardie will score 50/60 goals next season, maybe more if you look at the figures :cool6:

Agreed GS, some of the stats collated nowadays are totally ridiculous. I blame the stupid games like FIFA or championship manager (or whatever they are called nowadays!) where it is stats driven to make your decisions.

In the real world someone can have absolutely great stats but doesn't influence the game, and the opposite is true where a player can have a major bearing on a team but his stats look poor.

I prefer to rate a player with my eyes in live play (not tv) where you can see the whole picture. For example Holt makes some fantastic runs along the midfield line and is rarely spotted, so that doesn't appear in any stats but when we get better players in next season he will score plenty as these runs should be spotted. You don't see this on tv as they just follow the ball.

If you go stats-mental like this, it should be watered down with games played too. A young chap (say centre-half) that happened to play in 5 games and scores one in 3 games and 2 in another as a sub with 9 shots (5 of which are penalties) in total would soar to the top of this table.

Scored more than a fair few of those on it though. .this is a nonsense stat and frankly Griffiths 65 percent is very good.

In what way is it a nonsense stat? He had 130 attempts at goal of which 85 were on target, 35% of those efforts were off target, that's why he ends with a 65 percent rate?

Everyone in the top ten is a striker with the exception of Holt, his 63% along with Hardie's 85% are the most impressive stats out of all of the top ten, that was the reason I posted them :)
