Scottish Premiership prize money: Who wins what depending on league finish

OK so our game’s hardly cash-laden like the EPL but there’s still a pretty penny to be won in Scotland’s top flight.

 

FIRST and last in the Premiership might be just about nailed down – but there’s a raft of finishing positions that are very much up in the air.

 

But so what? Does it really matter if your team ends up fifth rather than sixth?

 

Yes, it matters. It matters a lot.

 

Because finishing second rather than third means the difference of £284,850.

 

That’s a decent transfer fee for your manager. That’s the wages of two to three stars for a whole season.

 

Unless there’s a collapse not seen since demolishers brought down the old Gorbals flats, Celtic will finish first and pocket £2,827,400. Aberdeen will rake in £2,025,600 for their second-place finish.

 

Hearts, meanwhile, will receive £1,740,750 for claiming third.

 

Bottom side Dundee United will have their fall from the Premiership cushioned somewhat by a near £1million pot (£9,49,500).

 

As Championship winners Rangers won’t receive even half of that. Dave King and his board will collect £474,000.

This won't be news to most of us but add in tv money and even play offs revenue which is distributed in the same way. Time this was changed. Keeping your own gate money is one thing but this is a dis service to the rest of the clubs in the SPFL

That muppet wont be around to see the day. That said, I hope he IS there for the next 5 seasons as it will make our job all the easier in stopping "10 in a row" as Halliday gives him the runaround whilst his only retaliation is his "intimidation staredown" which merely had Halliday laughing at him.
