The Summer Transfer Rumour Round-up Thread

Report suggests Ben Pringle has spoken to Kirk Broadfoot about Rangers move

The Fulham owned winger is being heavily linked with a move to Rangers.

In the past Rangers boss Mark Warburton and his recruitment team have worked well to bring in players from English football. The likes of Wes Foderingham, James Tavernier and Martyn Waghorn have all become stars at Ibrox.

This summer is not likely to be any different from Glasgow Rangers.

Now It is being reported that Rangers are hopeful of signing left-winger Ben Pringle from Championship side Fulham this summer.

The Express is reporting that Pringle, who is currently on loan from Fulham at Ipswich Town, is a major target for Warburton – who wanted to sign him for Brentford in 2014.

Now further reports have suggested that Pringle has spoken to a former Rangers player about a move. The BBC report the Daily Express as stating that Pringle has spoken to his former Rotherham team-mate Kirk Broadfoot about a move to Rangers.

Broadfoot spent five years at Rangers before the club went into liquidation and he won the SPL title three times during his spell at the club and was also a League Cup winner and Europa League semi-finalist in Glasgow.

The report claims that Pringle, who has one year left on his Fulham contract, would have to look to terminate his deal with Fulham early to make this deal look possible. If not Rangers would have to try and get him for as cheap as possible.

Pringle has struggled to win over new Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic and is said to be considering his future at Craven Cottage.

This thread has rumour in its title for a reason ...

RANGERS are tracking former £5million Swansea striker Danny Graham.

The 30-year-old is on loan at Blackburn Rovers and out of contract with Sunderland come the end of the season.

He is a player Gers boss Mark Waburton knows well from their time together at Watford.

Graham — who moved to the Liberty Stadium from Vicarage Road in a £3.5m deal in 2011 — has scored six goals in 16 games for Rovers.

And it’s understood that Warburton has identified the 6ft 1ins striker as the perfect fodder for Martyn Waghorn, as Rangers plot a bid for the Premiership title.

Graham finished top scorer at Watford and Swansea in his first full seasons at both clubs before moving to the Stadium of Light in a £5m deal in January 2013.

An ex-England Under-20 international, Graham has been on loan at no less that nine different clubs.

But Warburton helped Waghorn lay down roots in Glasgow and he hopes to persuade Gateshead-born Graham to do the same.

The hitman is available on a free contract in the summer, but would have to take a sizeable cut in wages to agree an Ibrox switch.

But in a twist, if Brendan Rodgers was to land the Celtic job it’s believed he too would target the player he worked closely with at City.

In recent days Rangers have been linked with moves for Blackburn defender Grant Hanley and Liverpool’s former U-19 captain Jordan Rossiter.

BTW, Graham is old by comparrison, but so too is Miller and he's just scored in one of the biggest games up here like he was 10 years younger.

Anyway, I guess it is this what they do ...

Do these so-called journalists know anything? Fans are susceptible to over-the-top excitement around a transfer target, but there's a line; We know the difference between a realistic target and a complete fantasy. You do wonder how they're picking these names? And, indeed, why?

Next Up: Messi's angling for a move because Warburton met him once while scouting the Barcelona academy...
