Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn: Let me play against Celtic

Recommended Posts

Did you see the interview with him Frankie? - His smile was as wide as the clyde when asked if he was out the game.

Sure but I'd honestly be very surprised given he's not been anywhere near the team before now.

I guess with Forrester injured he may make the bench but I'd hope we were being very careful with what was a fairly serious knee injury.

There is very little risk involved in listing him on the bench and throwing him on with 10-15 mins to go if we are losing and we need a goal. If we lose, our season is over, so if he aggravates it and doesnt play another minute of the season, he should still be good for pre-season.

From the official site - "

"MARTYN Waghorn will miss this Sunday’s Old Firm game after failing in his battle to make an early return to fitness.

The striker suffered a knee injury back in February and had been working hard to try and get ahead of schedule to make the Scottish Cup semi-final.

Waghorn has netted 28 goals this season in a blistering maiden campaign for the Light Blues and had hoped he could be fit enough to make the bench against Celtic but the manager confirmed the bad news at his press conference on Friday.

Mark Warburton said: “Martyn Waghorn, as I said many, many times, will not be fit for the semi-final. "

Waggy ruled out for Sundays game, i'm gutred for him.

On the small picture I am not, I never thought he was fit enough. On the big picture I was gutted he was injured in the first place. Unfortunate that we are missing probably 4 of our best players. gutted at that.
