Livingston decide to take a kick at Rangers.

Recommended Posts

"LIVINGSTON have hit out at the SPFL after their end of the season clash with Raith Rovers was moved to a Sunday lunchtime kick-off due to TV rules.

Championship leaders Rangers' match with St Mirren has been selected for TV coverage and SPFL rules dictate that all matches on the final day of the season must kick-off at the same time.

It means that Livingston's match will also kick-off at 12.30pm on Sunday May 1 and a post made by the club's official Twitter account blasted the decision.

The tweet was in reply to a fan who asked was the decision made so Rangers' last game will be on TV and said: "Naturally. 2 tier rules to suit The Rangers #farce."

The match could be vital to Livingston's chances of surviving in the Championship, with the West Lothian outfit currently sitting in the relegation play-off spot.

In 2014, Livingston chairman Gordon McDougall issued an apology after the club's match programme referred to Rangers as a new club and have since deleted the tweet from earlier tonight saying that it isn't the club's view and was intended for the person's private account."

Good riddance and goodbye, no more money from us!!

Falkirk hit out at SPFL: Last day of the season fixture change not in fans interest

THE Championship outfit are disappointed with the SPFL and insist that they will lose money due to the change.

FALKIRK have blasted the SPFL and made an official request to have their final match of the season moved back to a Saturday kick-off.

St Mirren v Rangers has been selected for TV and moved to a Sunday 12.30pm kick-off, and SPFL rules dictate that all games on the final day of the season must kick-off at the same time.

But Falkirk insist that it is unfair on fans and will result in clubs losing money.

Falkirk chairman Doug Henderson said: “We understand why the SPFL wanted to change the dates so that all the final day games took place at the same time.

"The reality is that none of the teams competing for the play-offs would be disadvantaged by allowing their games to take place on the Saturday.

“This decision is inconsiderate of our fans, not only because of the switch to a less convenient day, but also because end-of season supporters’ events have been planned for the Saturday. Clubs will lose out considerably at the gates and through the loss of hospitality.

“We are going through the proper channels to ask the SPFL to change its position – there’s still time to reverse their decision and respect the wishes of our fans.”

Last night, Livingston issued an apology after a member of their social media team used the club's official Twitter to express his displeasure with the change.
