Rumour mill: Hibs star wants switch to Ibrox

Recommended Posts

As yet un-sourced rumours surfacing today have claimed that Hibs’ star forward Jason Cummings desires to make the switch from Easter Road to Ibrox this summer.

The 20-year old attacker has been long-linked with a move to Rangers, despite some very public ‘banter’ at the expense of the Govan giants such as claiming they were ‘rattled’ following the loss at Easter Road earlier in the season:

“It’s only five points, it’s nothing, you can claw that back in a couple of weeks and hopefully that rattles them a wee bit. Our confidence is through the roof now. I can’t see us getting beaten any time soon and their heads are going to be down.”

It did not quite pan out that way, but nevertheless Cummings has proven his talent over the past two seasons under Stubbs’ guidance and while Rangers are hardly lacking in attacking quality, they will always be linked to the best players available with an assault on the upper tier on the horizon, and the suggestions are that Cummings would prefer Premiership Rangers to Championship Hibernian. In all fairness, name someone who would not.

However, whether he is a player manager Mark Warburton would be interesting in securing is a completely different matter though.

I thought he looked a very good striker earlier in the season, but not so sure now.

Would you like to see MW go for his signature...or is there a better target out there within reason?

He fits MW's preferred "value asset" signing. Young, potential, possible good sell-on value.

I like him, think he is a decent striker and would, IMHO, be a step up from Clark, not forgetting we also have an ages get Kenny Miller.

However.... If we did sign him I would hope he is more of a squad player than regular starter.

Still want him? ...

Got any clips of Ally sitters?,just joking!,but I would think MW would be keen on him as he does work hard and knows where the goal is!,of course this is only a rumour

That can happen. I think he is still an excellent talent. I am just not sure he is the striker we need.[/QUOTE]

You are no different from anyone right now, in fact we as fans need a striker, a real poacher type who scores for fun...who is this guy that we crave?

MW thinks differently though going by the way he plays the game and his results thus far.

Martyn Waghorn wasn't signed for being 'prolific' yet has been exactly that!

Kenny Miller has found a second wind under the guidance of said Magic Hat...maybe that's why Cummings wants to come here?

In the system we play we don't need a poacher striker we need one who can pass and move and hold the ball up. Dare I say a young Kenny Miller with a better first touch and better chance = goal ratio.
