Josh Magennis complains of racial abuse at Hearts

Recommended Posts

Kilmarnock striker Josh Magennis has made a police complaint, alleging he was racially abused from a section of the Hearts support during Saturday's 1-0 defeat.

The incident originated in the Wheatfield stand at Tynecastle.

Both Premiership clubs told BBC Scotland they are aware of a complaint but would not comment further.

"We can confirm we have received a report of racial abuse," said a police spokesman. "Enquiries are ongoing."

It is not yet clear if the episode involves one fan or more.

Northern Ireland international Magennis, 25, is in his second season at Kilmarnock and has scored 10 goals this term.

Josh Magennis ‘was racially abused at Tynecastle’

Kilmarnock striker Josh Magennis has claimed he was racially abused by a fan at Tynecastle. The 25-year-old Northern Ireland international is alleged to have been abused by a fan in the Wheatfield Stand after his side’s 1-0 defeat in Edinburgh.

Police are investigating the incident. (Sunday Post)
