I like these loans. The youngsters get the opportunity for competitive game time against better opposition than if they were playing in the U20's. And they still get coached by the Rangers coaches at Auchenhowie during the week. Win-win for me.

It allows the Rangers management see how good these youngsters really are.The only way to do that is playing see how they perform out of their age group. The reality is though the vast majority of them will not be good enough

Of course but that's the same with any club. A couple of the current bunch look like they might have it thiiugh. At least these loans feel like part of a structured development plan rather than just parking them somewhere ahead of releasing them.

Copied this from an Ayr Utd Forum

Very good debut from McCrorie looked like he had played with the team for ages, will only get better and I hope we can keep him more than a month. He will definitely pressure the other midfielders for a starting place which will be good for the club.

The boy is excellent in the air ideal for central mid I would play him along with Wardrop, Forrest,Docherty, Gilmour.

McCalls judgement totally justified. The other Rangers boy playing with Airdrie also played well but if I had choice I would take the boy McCrorie all day long think this boy could go far in my opinion.
