Rangers hearing delayed by a day

Recommended Posts

Six men are due to appear in court in connection with the alleged fraudulent acquisition of Rangers assets on Tuesday – a day later than planned.

The preliminary hearing was due to resume on Monday but it will now call at 10am on Tuesday, the Judiciary of Scotland has announced.

The football club's former owner Craig Whyte, former chief executive Charles Green and former club secretary Gary Withey are expected to appear at court, along with David Grier, David Whitehouse and Paul Clark, who worked for administrators Duff and Phelps.

The 15 charges in the case cover fraud, conspiracy and serious organised crime.

A statement released by the Judiciary of Scotland said: “The continued preliminary hearing in the case of Her Majesty’s Advocate v Craig Whyte and others, assigned for Monday 1 February 2016, has been discharged.

“A new diet has been assigned and the case will now call at 10am on Tuesday 2 February 2016 at the High Court of Justiciary at Edinburgh.”
