ALAN STUBBS has launched a charm offensive with Rangers fans before taking ANOTHER swipe at Mark Warburton.

The Hibs boss is ready to take pelters at Ibrox on Monday, but will never forget the Light Blues legions supporting his recovery from testicular cancer.

However, he claims Warburton lacks respect for his club because never refers to Hibs by name.

Stubbs was a lionheart in the centre of the Celtic defence when he was diagnosed with cancer after the Old Firm Scottish Cup final in 1999.

Rangers fans rallied to his support, along with the rest of Scottish football, as he beat his toughest opponent - the first of two cancer fights he has overcome in his life.

Stubbs said: “I received hundreds and hundreds of ‘Get Well Soon’ cards from Rangers fans. There was a banner up at the stadium at one of the games saying the same thing.

“For all that’s said, deep down, they’re good fans. They’re not as bad as what people say.

“Listen, I’ve always said - and if you look back you’ll find it - that Rangers are a fantastic club. There’s no denying that.

“I’ve been very respectful to them - and I do mention their club.

“Mark doesn’t like mentioning Hibernian Football Club. We’re ‘the other team’.

“However, I have got no problem mentioning Rangers Football Club. It’s a fantastic club. And that ‘other team’ behind them? We’re doing okay.”

You'd hope we have someone, perhaps even Davie Weir, taking Warburton to the side and say: "Welcome to the Scottish mhedia circus. No matter what you say, it is like feeding trolls ..."

In a small variation from what was once said about the Yahoos, this holds also true for most "journalists" these days:

"Never get into a debate with these idiots, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience in asshattery!"
