Boca At RNAA Partner Sponsored Event

Recommended Posts

RANGERS North American Academy Partner Global Image Sports are sponsoring a charity football tournament in Atlanta this weekend in which former Gers defender Carlos Bocanegra will feature.

Bocanegra retired from playing after a season in the MLS with Chivas USA and has subsequently been appointed the Technical Director of the MLS expansion club Atlanta United who are also helping to support the event.

The Father Christmas Cup (FX Cup) is an annual soccer fundraiser held each December to provide comfort and financial support to local Atlanta families who will be missing a parent for the first time over the holiday period.

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, December 19th at The Atlanta Silverbacks Park and remembers people within the football, military and emergency service communities who have passed within the previous twelve months.

Bocanegra will play in the match and the club have donated a signed top to be used within the auction at the event.

The Rangers North American Academy provides youth clubs in the region with the opportunity to partner with Scotland’s most successful club.

All RNAA partner clubs will have the opportunity to host a player ID event at their own venue which will see hand picked, professional Rangers coaches fly from Glasgow to work with their players.

The clubs will also have the chance to bring their teams and coaches on a Team Tour to Scotland. Team Tours are a fabulous way to give your players and coach the experience of travelling, training and playing like a professional.

I was impressed for a minute when I thought it was Boca Juniors. :D

That was my first thought as well. I don't know if I fancy getting amongst their supporters though. I think their derby is the most dangerous in the world.
