Transfer Deadline Day: Michael O'Halloran signs until 2020

Recommended Posts

O’Halloran began his career at Celtic who released him as a teenager before he joined Bolton. His father, Michael senior, is an academy coach at the Scottish champions but is as thrilled as anyone by his son’s move to the other half of Glasgow’s football divide.

“He is delighted for me,” said O’Halloran. “He wants me to go on and play at the highest level possible. There will definitely be a wee bit of banter in the house now, though! But my mum will definitely be supporting me at Rangers. I’m a mummy’s boy!”

I suspect we would all have liked a couple more. But that window has went pretty well for me.

The Jan window is always poor for trades/purchases - no-one wants to let their "prized" assets go at a potentially crucial part of the season. I think we appear to have done some decent business. We'll obviously need to wait to see about the Acrington boys, but I think the addition of O'Hallaran & Forrester will certainly help boost the squad. The new keeper, I'm not fussed about.....chances are we won't really see him play.

I'm just a bit surprised we never brought in a striker even on loan.

Also I thought we'd have tried to get more players OUT even on loans as there are easily half a dozen or so in the first team squad who really don't have a future at Rangers. I also don't think anyone going out of contract at the end of the season will get a renewal despite what MW seemed to be saying regards Law

SQUAD AS OF FEBRUARY 2nd

(4-3-3 line up. Bold is the main position of each player, every other position they can be used in is placed in brackets. I ordered them according to their preffered position and probable rank in the packing order there. Do note that some actually play out of position despite being higher in the ranking.
