Macnamara leaves Dundee Utd

Recommended Posts

Since Rangers got voted out the then SPL, clubs have been cutting their budgets due to the reduced revenue. The effect of this has been that there is now not that much difference between 'bigger' clubs like Dundee Utd and Hibz and 'smaller' clubs like St Johnstone, Ross County & Inverness. Aberdeen are the main exception to this mainly I'd say due to the sterling job McInnes has done there

During his time as Dundee Utd manager I've never viewed McNamara as anti-Rangers unlike his chairman. It will be interesting to see if McNamara has anything to say on his departure as getting the budget reduced was what caused his predecessor Peter Houston to quit. The job was perhaps much more difficult than he'd envisaged largely due to his chairman being part of the ant-Rangers crew who voted us out & didn't consider fully the consequences of that.
