AS a fourth man is charged over 2012 Ibrox takeover, police have stateside pair in their sights.

Police in the US are trying to track down Imran Ahmad and Brian Stockbridge.

TWO former Rangers directors were being hunted by US police last night as part of the huge probe into the alleged fraudulent takeover of the club in 2012.

Ex-finance director Brian Stockbridge is in the US but officers have so far been unable to find him, the Record has learned.

They are also trying to trace Imran Ahmad – Rangers’ former commercial director.

Both are wanted for questioning in the probe into the takeover by ex- chief executive Charles Green, 62.

Police sources have confirmed they are searching for Stockbridge and Ahmad, who were part of Green’s Ibrox regime.

Yesterday, police said: “Inquiries are ongoing.”

On Wednesday, the probe led to Green, previous owner Craig Whyte and ex-administrator David Whitehouse appearing in court accused of serious organised crime in a conspiracy over the acquisition of the club’s assets after liquidation.

A fourth man – former administrator Paul Clark, 51, from Surrey – appeared in court on the same charges yesterday.

All four made no plea or declaration during their court appearances at Glasgow Sheriff Court , were released on bail and the cases have been continued.

Clark alongside Whitehouse, worked at Duff and Phelps when the firm were appointed adminstrators of Rangers in February 2012 when they were owned by Whyte, 44.

The four were charged under the Criminal Justice Licensing Act 2010, Section 28 (1), which covers “involvement in serious organised crime”.

Green was charged with a breach of the Companies Act which relates to the acquisition of a substantial non-cash asset” from a connected director without shareholders’ approval.

FORMER Rangers finance director Stockbridge says prosecutors have told his legal team that he is not being pursued by Police Scotland.

FORMER Rangers finance director Brian Stockbridge says police are not looking to quiz him in connection with case surrounding the 2012 takeover of the club.

Stockbridge got in touch with prosecutors today after sources suggested that police were keen to speak to him about his involvement at the club.

However, he issued a statement yesterday confirming that he is not being sought.

Stockbridge said: “I instructed my legal team to contact the procurator fiscal to establish whether or not officers of Police Scotland were attempting to contact me.

“It has been confirmed that this is categorically not the case.”

He added: “For the avoidance of doubt, I joined the Club on 14 June 2012 and had no involvement in the acquisition, which appears to be the basis of the current investigation.”

FORMER Rangers director
Imran Ahmad is trying to sell his £80,000 Porsche.

He put his black 1989 Carrera up for sale earlier this year, describing it as an “honest” car.

Police want to speak to Ahmad over claims of fraud relating to his former boss Charles Green’s takeover of Rangers in 2012.

Green, Craig Whyte and former administrators David Whitehouse and Paul Clark appeared in court this week charged with involvement in serious organised crime.

All four men were bailed and police inquiries are continuing.

Sources say detectives are keen
to talk to Ahmad, left, who was commercial director at Ibrox under Green.

But it’s understood he has been travelling overseas and is now in Pakistan.

Ahmad put his Porsche on the market for £79,995 in an online ad in February. The advert, which will remain active until November, says of the car: “She is one of the most honest and original RHD 3.2 Carrera Sport Coupes for sale in the UK, with zero rust and still drives like a new car.

“Not in any rush to sell, no dealers, absolutely no canvassers and no offers, thank you.

“Whoever sees her first will
buy her, as her condition speaks
for itself.”

Ahmad arrived at Ibrox alongside Green in 2012 and left in April 2013, a week after the Yorkshireman.

The club had announced an
investigation into Green and Ahmad over claims of links to Whyte.

Ahmad claimed he was owed a £500,000 bonus and tried to have £620,000 of the club’s money frozen. Fans were furious when Rangers settled the case.

Police: The alleged fraudulent takeover of Rangers will take detectives “wherever they need to go”

Evening Times:

Peter Swindon, Group Investigations Writer / Friday 4 September 2015 / News

The probe into the alleged fraudulent takeover of Rangers will take detectives “wherever they need to go”, police said today.

They are trying to track down Rangers’ former commercial director Imran Ahmad as part of the investigation into the takeover by former chief executive Charles Green in 2012.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said this morning: “The inquiry is ongoing and it will take officers wherever they need to go.”

Charles Green, former Rangers owner Craig Whyte, David Whitehouse and Paul Clark, who both worked for the club's administrators Duff and Phelps, are all facing charges connected to the takeover.

Whyte took control of Rangers in May 2011 but by the summer of 2012 Green had taken charge at the Ibrox club by purchasing Rangers' assets and business after it went into administration and liquidation earlier that year. He stepped down as chief executive in 2013.
