Magpies put £450,000 valuation on Vuckic

Newcastle United striker Haris Vuckic has reportedly been valued by the club at £450,000 with the 23-year-old looking set to leave Tyneside

Newcastle United look set to offload striker Haris Vuckic after they reportedly set a fee of around £450,000 for the Slovenia international.

Vuckic, who had impressed while on loan at Scottish side Rangers last season, has struggled to break in to the Newcastle first team.

While north of the border, Vuckic bagged nine goals in 22 games but, according to the Daily Mail, it looks as though it won’t be enough to keep him on Tyneside.

Reports say that the 23-year-old forward has had interest from clubs across Europe but that he could make a move in to the Championship to restart his career, which may be his best move with time still on his side.

Vuckic moved to Newcastle in 2009 from Slovenia side Domzale but has seen limited game time in the black and white kit – spending three spells on loan at Cardiff, Rotherham and Rangers.

Interesting to see people willing to give the likes of Law a new chance after a rather miserable last season, but Vuckic's e.g. "work ethic" is not up to that or improvable by a new manager and players around him. Just saying ...

Why?,two different scenarios and two different players!

I thought Vukic was excellent for us last season, and under "normal" circumstance would have loved to have seen him back. However, we are not experiencing "normal" circumstances. The team is playing some excellent stuff, and I can't see Vukic bringing much more to the table. If he was a free agent, then definitely, but not for £450k.

Not exactly. It is not beyond reason that Vuckic will be able to adopt to a different style of play and management in the same way that Law has.

I for one don't see us being interested, BTW, simply because our midfield is loaded with attacking midfielders who are all firing on all cylinders right now.
