Gedion Zelalem joins Rangers from Arsenal on loan until January

Recommended Posts

Only till Jamuary though. Would have preferred a season long deal

That'll probably be Arsenal's doing. They'll want to see how much game time we give him between now and January. If we play him and he's happy to stay, there's maybe a chance of it being extended.

Think it is us who have the option to extend. Maybe Warburton has a possible signing in mind come Jan.

In the article Rangers have just published it ends by saying "The loan agreement will be reviewed in January"

Yep, Paul McHale - is/was also a community coach with us. :)

Used to play against him at school back in the day, he played in the same school team as Gary Caldwell. Think it might have been Wallace High or something.

can you expand on how it was arsenals decision and who gets to extend the deal?

More like my opinion: Wenger may still deem our league as too weak to sharpen his skills, so Warburton gets his chance to proof that it is not, while Arsenal keep the option to call him home in January if they like. (Of course, it could also just be called a six-month loan straight away.)
