Rangers tell Graham Spiers & Chris McLaughlin they are "no longer welcome at Ibrox"

I do not agree with banning Journos, I believe in taking them on.

The initial emotion is legitimate, 'good and about time'. However, he will become a martyr and a cause celebre.

Infuriating too in a way. Spiers is reduced to a weekly column in the Herald and a half hour golf spot on BBC Radio Scotland. Suddenly, he is high profile again.

I hope the club spells on the reasoning for the ban, and I hope they have got their ducks in a row?

I don't think that the marytr stuff will hold. At the end of the day, someone pays for his work and if he can't deliver that work, especially direct and first hand information, his employers will have to send someone in his stead. Over the course of time, he will become peripheral and/or forgotten.

The only people who will lap him up are those of his inclination or ilk, and if they are dealt with in a similar mammer, they too will be gone over time. It is not that Rangers want anything special. Rangers want impartial journos writing impartial stories. Primarily, Rangers also want journos in the first place, not folk like Spiers and Co., who are anything but journos.
