Mike Ashley tells Rangers FC 'we're not a bank' over loan deal

Recommended Posts

On this issue I think they might. Think the institutional investors might say one share issue ina year is enough

Disagree. Even the institutional investors know that the club needs an injection of money, otherwise it is admin again. They wont be turkeys voting for Christmas.

Has it never occurred to you that we may not be paying it back because a 5 million, interest free, open ended repayment date loan is cheaper than having that 26% of the retail operation back in our hands ?

At a conservative 6%, a 5 million loan would see you paying 300k a year in interest. What is our income from the retail deal again ???

Perhaps you could explain why the same deal was described as having "double-digit" interest rates when it was first announced.

King stated that there had been enough games played over the last few years but that his arrival would see all that end, so why are we now being subjected to yet another pissing contest with the support being further torn apart and next to nothing happening to bring about the promised rebuild?

Not always when it's a consequence of choice.

King has decided to run us at a loss. There is other ways to fix the short fall than a share issue.

We are talking about £15_20m. I don't see them having the kind of cash needed.

Kings giving 50% of what the other investors pony up. So who's putting up the first £10m

After the loans are deducted from the share issue we wI'll be lucky to have £5m worth of shares left. Do we not need shareholder permission to put up another tranche?

Some of the rest of kingco are far far richer than king

Why are they not injecting cash in order to fix the stadium; get a proper scouting set-up off the ground; or to provide a £5m interest free loan without any add-ons which affect other revenue streams?

All we have had so far are a couple of Provi loans to keep the lights on. Should questions not be asked about whether that constitutes "hitting the ground running"?

I am sure they will at the share issue.

How has he "decided" to run us at a loss ? He's just in the door and you are blaming him for the ridiculous selling of the crown jewels for pennies, the onerous contracts etc ? We may be running at a loss, but you can hardly legitimately suggest that King "decided" to do that.

What are the other ways to fix the short fall ?
