BT Sport: Exclusive UK home of the Champions League and Europa League from 2015/16

For the first time ever a single UK broadcaster will show all 350 matches across both tournaments as a three-year exclusive rights deal commences.

 

 

 

BT Sport will be the new UK home of Champions League and Europa League football from next season, following a tender process in which BT won the exclusive live broadcast rights to all 350 matches from both tournaments. The rights run for three seasons from 2015/16.

 

This is the first time a single UK broadcaster has won the exclusive live rights to all matches from both tournaments. The hundreds of additional matches will boost BT Sport and make it the natural home for football fans who wish to see the very best European sides pitted against each other.

 

BT Sport already shows top European league football, including regular live matches from Germany's Bundesliga, France's Ligue 1, Italy's Serie A and Portugal’s Primeira Liga. It also shows live Barclays Premier League and Aviva Premiership rugby matches, MotoGP action and more.

 

Commenting on BT’s rights acquisition, Gavin Patterson, BT chief executive, said: "I am thrilled that BT Sport will be the only place where fans can enjoy all the live action from the Champions League and Europa League.

That's a lot of games, but its down to that Europa League which starts in about 2 weeks time! Crazy.
