Ashley who has missed recent games as the relegation heat intensified has decided to attend this afternoon’s crunch Tyneside game against West Ham. A Newcastle insider told Sunday Express Sport: “It’s a huge game - one of the biggest in years - and Mike feels it’s important he comes up to give his support to the management and the players.” Ashley who has been subjected to a fans’ campaign to remove him knows that things could turn nasty if Newcastle are relegated for the second time during his controversial reign. But he is prepared to front everybody up hoping that Newcastle are still a Premier League club at 5pm. Ashley is believed to be fuming about the situation Newcastle find themselves in and has promised big changes and investment in the summer. He knows he has to find a new manager following Alan Pardew’s departure and John Carver’s appalling record since taking over on an interim basis. Newcastle are still likely to go foreign in their pursuit of a new boss especially after former England manager Steve McClaren rejected overtures from the Toon on two occasions. No longer for sale and he will refuse to sell it now until they win a trophy or get to champions league. ... He has no clue.
