it all felt a wee bit tame. i was kind of hoping there would be a bit more depth. Newcastle & Rangers got a bit of a mention but there didnt seem to be much said closing businesses and buying them back minus the their debt. or sending lorrys up to clear out warehouse and not bother giving the staff notice they were being sacked!

Newcastle United Club Statement

The Club has noted the Channel 4 'Dispatches' programme aired tonight (Monday, 27th April) and in particular the reference to the terms of the retail relationship between the Club and Sports Direct.

The Club is extremely disappointed no-one from Channel 4 contacted the Club for comment.

The information broadcast is wholly inaccurate and the Club will provide further information and clarification tomorrow (Tuesday, 28th April).

As someone who spent a fair bit of time on the phone to one of the producers about the Rangers situation, I was rather disappointed at the lack of attention placed upon Ashley's football activities.

Programmes such as these can expose the dubious business practices of whoever they like but Ashley has shown time after time he couldn't care less what anyone thinks of how he makes his money. He's clever enough to fudge the legal lines to his benefit and it appears shareholders, employees and the authorities are powerless to expect a more moral path.

third world workers conditions they should be under a total boycott from everyone .

Whilst I agree the problem with that is, their prices are generally cheaper than most other sports stores. And for families who aren't as fortunate they could probably buy a Slazenger rig out for under a tenner.
