Rangers set to pounce for Dutch ace Sander Fischer

Recommended Posts

Looks like he can pass a ball, which is something we need, but those long-balls would be ineffectual because our forwards don't make those runs. Looks quite composed.

I'm not sure a player from a lower-table Eredivisie team is quite what we should be aiming for, but I think he is the 'type' we should be aiming for: composed, passer, strong in the air, technical etc.; in short, Dutch!

To be fair, it is just good to see us linked with a player that is not some SPL reject.

One longs for the days when the media got any clue about whom we may sign when the player was at Ibrox / Auchenhowie putting pen to paper. Or, at least, when all is essentially done and dusted. As it stands now, he'll become a freebie in 3 months time and a fair number of clubs will have become alerted by our interest - not least half a dozen English Championship teams.

Sander, BTW, is Dutch, 1.91 m tall and has not played for many household names in the Netherlands either (well, people may actually know NAC Breda from days long gone by). That said, this is exactly the places where we should be looking for talented folk (which we may sell on for a decent fee if they prove to be of any worth).

I know for a fact that Rangers have a well known Dutch Football agent as supporter and contact person. I don't know if this guy is in his stable but I it is a possibility. By pure chance I met the agent recently and he told me he wanted to contact McCoist as he had a few players available. He is also the contact person that arranges our Dutch and German pre season tours. His brother also worked by the SFA till recently. This is pure speculation from me and I can only say as fact that my part of the story is true and it may be nothing to do with him.
