Frankie 8,651
Didn't look like 40k to me to be honest. Looked around that to me. Club Deck was only around 20-30% full but other than a few gaps elsewhere, it seemed full enough.

Frankie 8,651
Seeing you were there I will give you that. It was certainly as full as I've seen it for a long time mate. Fuller than McCall's first game as well I'd say.
SteveC 150
Didn't look like 40k to me to be honest. No, they'll have been counting season ticket holders who didn't turn up. The - expanded - away section was absolutely jam packed as you'd expect, there were empty seats dotted throughout the rest of the ground, even in the well populated bits plus some gaps. Most I've seen for a while though and I think that it is totally understandable that some who have drifted away in the last year have found far more entertaining ways of spending a Saturday afternoon without fear of ending up with a police record and losing their job for singing the wrong words after a few beers. I hope we get them all back but I don't really see it, tbh. In ten years I think a crowd like yesterday's at a Scottish game will be something of a sensation, unless we are playing the yahoos. Zappa 0
It certainly won't have been too far off 40k because it was definitely a very big crowd. If the official number was 40,521 then I'd say there was at least 38k in the stadium based on an average of 2-3k ST holders not turning up to games over the past month. That said, the number of ST holders not turning up could easily have fallen significantly yesterday due to the recent upturn in results and performances, it being a holiday weekend, good weather forecast etc, so 39-40k actually going through the turnstiles yesterday wouldn't be a surprise at all. The opening game against Hearts was probably the last time it was as full, Ricksen match aside
Zappa 0
The opening game against Hearts was probably the last time it was as full, Ricksen match aside I think you're spot on there. That Hearts game back in August was officially 43,683 so even with 2 or 3k not turning up it was no doubt around or even over 40k in the stadium. We haven't had another league or cup game attendance anywhere near that all season until yesterday.
Tannochsidebear 2,429
I thought it looked around the 40K mark from my seat. The number most of the guys I was talking to at HT ranged from high 30's to low 40's so can't argue with the official number.
Bluedell 5,679
I couldn't see the club deck but it looked like 40k from where I was sitting with the empty seats possibly contains missing ST holders so tickets sold could have been higher.
