Guest bluebird27
Hi All, I'm new to the Forum. My Pal and Myself, are travelling up to Scotland from Cardiff, to attend the Scotland v Gibraltar game on 29th March. As we are arriving at Central Station on the Saturday morning, we've decided to come to The Rangers v Cowdenbeath match on the 28th. We shall be 'ready' for a few beers after travelling!! , so I'm asking for help on the best pubs to go in before the game, to soak up the atmosphere. I know of The Louden next to the Stadium, but think that will be too busy,- I've read about some pubs on Paisley Road west, and wonder which ones anybody could recommend we'll be welcome in, Thanks
Frankie 8,529
The Grapes Bar and the District Bar are certainly worth a visit on PRW mate. Have a great trip!
Guest bluebird27
You'll be made welcome in all bars on the Paisley Road West mate. District and the Grapes are fine bars. Red Lion too but it doesn't look very appealing from the outside! That's great folks. Thanks for the help. Look forward to it, Cheers

Had so many years of up and downs,- mostly downs, we just pick ourselves up though, dust ourselves down and get on with it lol. Not expecting a 10 -0, but hope for a win for your boys, be interested to speak to someone about how your play off system works
Bearman 9
...be interested to speak to someone about how your play off system works If the league tables (premiership and Championship) were to finish as so at the end of the season. Premiership bottom club: Motherwell are Relegated 2nd bottom St Mirren play-off place Championship: Hearts are promoted. Play-off places: 2nd (Hibs), 3rd (Rangers) and 4th (Queen of the South) Rangers would play Queen of the South over 2 legs (Sat. May 9th/Wed. 13th) The winner of that will play Hibs (Sat. May 16th/Sat May 23rd) The victors will then play St Mirren (Thu. May 28th/Sun May 31st) for a place in the Premiership.
Bearman 9
Is there an advantage to finishing 3rd as opposed to 2nd? We will play Hibs regardless of where Rangers or them end up. The team that finishes 2nd have the 'luxury' of a few days off, but then the teams that finish in the 3rd and 4th positions have the advantage of actual 'game time', though the risk of bookings and bans along with injuries say they don't. My head tells me 'game time' is more important even with the risks involved. Meanwhile the team that finishes bottom of the Premiership have one helluva wait for the outcome. Guest bluebird27
God, that sounds a bit drawn out!! Perhaps a mini tournament between the four teams would be better? I hate these play off things anyway,am still a believer of 2 or 3 up and 2 or 3 down. Look forward to meeting your fans in 4 weeks though, Cheers, Nigel
