Celtic launch appeal against referee Ivan Kruzliak after being hit with UEFA disciplinary proceedings.

THE Hoops exceeded the five bookings threshold on Thursday night and will contest the UEFA charge by highlighting the display of the match officials.

CELTIC last night launches an appeal after ropey ref Ivan Kruzliak copped the Hoops a UEFA rap.

The Parkead club- who are also in the dock for another flare offence- have been hit with disciplinary proceedings after crashing through the five bookings threshold on Thursday.

The Slovakian whistler also sent off Virgil van Dijk and while Celtic can't appeal that decision as it was for two yellow cards, they will be contesting the overall charge and highlighting the display of the officials.

A club spokesperson said: "UEFA rules state that they are able to open disciplinary proceedings against any club that receives five or more bookings.

"Celtic can confirm that this is a charge the club will be contesting."

Hoops boss Ronny Deila and a host of Celtic stars slaughtered Kruzliak's display after the match with Kris Commons caught on camera berating him.
