BrahimHemdani 1
But they were clever enough not to replace you, weren't they? Killed the issue and any further meddling actions stone dead. I'm not sure if "clever enough" is the expression I would use but they certainly stopped me asking all the questions the "away fans" were asking about allocations etc and most definitley signalled their future intentions, which they have now carried out.
BrahimHemdani 1
I don't think that's particularly impressive to be honest. Agreed. The RFB Constitution was drafted by Rangers' lawyers and you might say imposed on the RFB. Furthermore any proposed amendments required the approval of the RFB. It did not require "verification" and by working to it, the RFB effectively endorsed it in any event. chilledbear 16
What I find strange is their reason for bringing this up now. Why prod someone at this time when they were silent?
Frankie 8,907
the indivdual if representing a fans group would be irrelevant as they would need to put aside personal beliefs to do as their party wanted or demanded. The question is whether those wants would 1. match the greater supports. 2. be absent of what is best for fans group over Rangers/fans 3.be seen openly by the support as always being for the betterment of the club. if Frankie was to stand on his own i would back him without a single misgiving. He comes across as a very level headed guy who can see the bigger picture. He has never came across as the power hungry type or one who would manouver with one eye on personal gain. Perfect type. Appreciate the kind words but I wouldn't consider myself equipped well enough for the job. If a fan is voted onto the board (and one or two should be) then they should not only possess the business expertise to ensure they can take an active part in the decision-making but the time available to devote themselves properly to what will be a hugely difficult position. As much as I may represent a reasonably ordinary supporter, I have neither the background or time that would be asked of me.
Frankie 8,907
By the way, the club once again threatening their own fans with legal action is nothing short of a disgrace. Some may wish to excuse it but such actions are symptomatic of a regime that will never be capable of building the kind of mutual respect required to deliver a successful Rangers. I'm stunned any supporter thinks they're worth backing.

Frankie 8,907
We will have 3 fans on the board next week. Which is fine but I think we do need someone that, without sounding patronising, the 'ordinary' fan can relate and aspire to. There has to be a bridge between Copland Joe and Boardroom Bill. Gilligan may be that man initially but after the fact we need open elections to deliver a candidate that we can all buy into.

I'm stunned any supporter thinks they're worth backing. I think that recent events/actions surrounding the RFB and their interaction with RIFC have not only helped highlight to all the unbrigdable chasm that exists between the supporter and the board but has shown that the board aren't interested in even trying. Most of us knew that the soundbite of "communication and engagement" was bullshit and so it has proved to be. It's end of days for them now but they'll leave an unholy mess behind them that will take years to see the other side of.
