Vuckic reckons Rangers are on right track ahead of Rovers return

HARIS VUCKIC is confident Rangers are on the right track - despite suffering his second Ibrox defeat in a week against Hibernian.

Just days after crashing out of the Scottish Cup to Raith Rovers, Kenny McDowall's side returned to Championship duty on Friday night.

But it was to prove another disappointing outcome for the Light Blues as goals in either half from Scott Robertson and Lewis Stevenson clinched the win for the visitors.

Defeat at Ibrox means Rangers are now third in the Championship standings and while they still have three games in hand, it is Alan Stubbs' side who have the play-off momentum.

The Gers head to Raith Rovers on Friday night aiming to avoid a fourth successive loss in all competitions and loan star Vuckic, who again impressed on Friday night, reckons there were positives to take from a frustrating fixture.

He said: "I think it was a good performance. We created a lot of chances and we should have scored.

"It is always easier when you score and the team get confidence. I think we deserved more.

"We started really positively in the changing room and said 'lets give them a tough time'.

"We started quickly and created a few chances but, in football, if you don't score then you get punished.

"They are a strong side. Before the game we saw the video and they like to play. But I don't think we allowed them to play, we were always close to them and fighting with them so I think we did well. But, they won.

"I think we deserved more. We created chances and the only thing that was missing was a goal.

"We have to forget it and focus now on Raith Rovers. We will train well and when the game comes, if we can play like that then we have a good chance to win."

I hope he is right and we start showing some form.
