der Berliner 3,761
Stuff some block out time and again when talking about us and postmen, plummers and co. for these last few years. Stuff, that happens time and again, all over the place. And today again ... CHELSEA 2 - Bradford City 4 (that's the English third tier team) MANCHESTER CITY 0 - Middlesbrough FC 2 (that's the English second tier team) SOUTHAMPTON FC 2 - Crystal Palace 3 Cambridge United* 0 - MANCHESTER UNITED 0 *(that's the English fourth tier team) ... so none of the EPL's top four have made it to the next round against lesser opposition, only ManU with a chance to go through. It does not mean much with respect to our players failing time and again to play some decent football, or our managers to show some sort of imagination. Yet, it does show that time and again big names and hilarious money paid for and on players will not guarantee you success. If a third tier team is set up and drilled well enough, it can cause quite a bit of a shock. And while I'm at it, Falkirk did beat Hearts at Tynecastle today, rather unexpectantly.

Ser Barristan Selmy 222
In reality the FA cup has become an irrelevant tournament. It means absolutely nothing. All that matters in England is the Premiership and CL.
Scott7 6,047
Did you arrive at this conclusion after Bradford's third or fourth, Ser B?
der Berliner 3,761
The actual point is not solely about the EPL, the FA Cup et al, nor do Chelsea's line-up suggest that they a) took it lightly nor b) those on display were not head and shoulders about the opposition. There is no point. There is absolutely no correlation between what happened in England this weekend and the dreadful football we have been playing on a weekly basis for years. Only that football time and again does not go "according to plan". Chances are that we get a right good doing. Whether that happens remains to be seen though. Morton were expecting a doing, as was Ross County (twice). Did not happen. Nor were Cambridge hammered or Bradford torn apart, despite being peasants compared to the respective EPL side's "might". To ignore that or casting it aside is simply ignoring the facts and history.
BrahimHemdani 1
apropos, Jose's comments - quality: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30969286 On the face of it, pure class; but it would have been interesting to have been a fly on the wall in the dressing room before and after the match.
BrahimHemdani 1
In reality the FA cup has become an irrelevant tournament. It means absolutely nothing. All that matters in England is the Premiership and CL. It matters to Manchester Utd and perhaps even more so to Liverpool.
