pete 2,499
Simple things for simple minds. Do they really think this is going to make much of a difference to anyone except a feel good factor for a few that all ready believe.

JohnMc 2,839
Actually I think it'll backfire. Reading an English based general football messageboard yesterday and without exception everyone was laughing at it or pitying the people who did it.
ian1964 10,780
Former Rangers heroes laugh off Celtic fans' advert that claims Ibrox outfit is a new club Jan 26, 2015 07:14 By Michael Gannon SOME Hoops supporters claim Old Firm is dead but Alex McLeish, Alex Rae, Ronald de Boer and Bert Konterman say Sunday's Hampden clash will show them derby game is very much alive. FORMER Rangers heroes yesterday laughed off an advert by Celtic fans claiming the Ibrox outfit are a new club. Some Hoops fans took out a full-page ad in a newspaper to insist their old rivals ceased to exit after the oldco’s liquidation in 2012. They also claimed the Old Firm derby had been confined to history. But former manager Alex McLeish and ex-players Alex Rae, Ronald de Boer and Bert Konterman lined up to rubbish the ad. Rae accused the fans of creating tension ahead of Sunday’s League Cup semi-final between the sides at Hampden – the first clash of the sides since 2012. Rae said: “That’s just provoking things. If that’s what they get their kicks from on the day, maybe it will take away from their performance. “Seriously, good luck to them, they can conduct themselves like that if they want.” McLeish said: “For me, Celtic are missing Rangers. You see empty spaces at Celtic Park. Back in the day when Martin O’Neill was there and they had a superb team, we did too. Stadiums were full every week.” De Boer and Konterman in Glasgow for Fernando Ricksen’s benefit game, laughed at the ploy. De Boer said: “I think only one per cent of people think that way. “Most think differently and they will be looking forward to this game.” Konterman added: “It is a nice try but no chance. It is in the heart of the people and that won’t change. “I think it is a bit of sarcasm. It is funny from their side.” http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/former-rangers-heroes-laugh-celtic-5042508
der Berliner 3,882
McLeish said: “For me, Celtic are missing Rangers ... The whole of Scottis footbal miss Rangers. Not the supporters, of course, nor those half-brains running certain clubs. They sure thought this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to reap some silverware and get into Europe. But ask any impartial accountant and PR man looking at the figures released by the SFA, SPL, SPFL and the clubs and they will tell you how much Scottish football miss Rangers, or more specifically Rangers vs the Hooped Horrors. But that is Scottish* clan-mentality for you. They voted for their (Hooped) Christmas and got it. *No disrespect to any Scot reading this.
Dragosani 74
I think Konterman's line summed up perfectly! “It is a nice try but no chance. It is in the heart of the people and that won’t change".
Guest DublinBear
Hello first post You really have to laugh at these muppets If we are a new club to them why are they so obsessed with us? Why are so many of them going to the semi final when week after week their stadium is half empty Surely beating us would mean no more to them than beating any other Scottish team if this was the case You can bet they will be spouting the same old bile at the semi though Edited January 26, 2015 by DublinBear

It just shows them up for what they are. The problem might be that they overdo it on the day and some Bears may, nay will react. As I said before, this game will most likely not be remembered for football. There is actually no debate about us being a "new club". At least not where it matters.
True_Ger_1872 2
“I think it is a bit of sarcasm. It is funny from their side.” What's scary about it - is that it isn't sarcasm. This is their actual mentality nowadays. Some may say obsessed - I would say, consumed is more apt!
