ian1964 10,724
Rangers fans plan demo ahead of Hearts crunch following Mike Ashley's attempts to grab security over Ibrox Jan 15, 2015 14:22 By Gary Ralston THE Union of Fans have decalred all out war on the Ibrox board and are calling on fans to turn up early ahead of tomorrow night's huge Championship clash with leaders Hearts. RANGERS fans are calling for a demo before the Hearts game to protest at plans to secure Ibrox against Mike Ashley’s millions. The Union of Fans are calling for supporters to turn up before the game on Edmiston Drive to make their voices heard before snubbing the action inside. The Light Blues legions have finally declared all out war against the board after Ashley lodged papers seeking security against Ibrox and Murray Park in return for a new loan. He is reportedly ready to offer another £10 million to shore up the finances of the cash-strapped club, but the club’s two most prized assets are on the line. The Rangers board insist they are looking at all options and have yet to declare which one they favour, with the Three Bears consortium also willing to invest around £6.5 million in the club. Union of Fans spokesman Chris Graham said: “We have been campaigning for 18 months to try to secure our stadium. It is not yet too late but the only people who can stop this now are the fans and we would ask them to do two things. “First of all, please come to the ground tomorrow night, 45 minutes before kick-off and stage a mass demonstration at the front door of our Ibrox home. “We would ask fans not to enter the game but if they feel they have to, in order to support the team in an important game, then we would ask them to make their feelings known in the strongest possible fashion to the board. “Our strength is in numbers and acting together. It is time for the fans to make their voices heard in the strongest possible terms but we must do so together and we cannot waiver.” Rangers fans take legal advice after Ashley moves to secure Ibrox The Union of Fans have condemned the board for even considering putting up Ibrox as an asset, despite assurances within the last 12 months they would not make the move. Graham added: “We are sickened by the news that the board is attempting to mortgage Ibrox and Murray Park to Sports Direct. “Put simply, Mr James Easdale, Mr Sandy Easdale and Mr David Somers have lied to fans and shareholders. “They have engineered a situation where they are handing the most prized assets of the club to Mike Ashley despite other, better funding offers once again being on the table. “Derek Llambias and Barry Leach have been appointed by Mr Ashley to ensure he grabs the remaining assets of the club. Mr Ashley and his board stooges have shown a blatant disregard for the club and the fans. John Brown could not have been more accurate when he described them as ‘rats’.” http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-fans-plan-demo-ahead-4984238

gisabeer 409
do we have a meeting point?
BlueSolace 0
It would be best to get a full house then the fans leave their seats and walk on to the park the game will be abandoned but who cares and they have to do it at the next game as well to show the board and their fat controller the true feelings of the support It is going to take something like this and an organised boycott and picket of Ashleys stores and brands... Otherwse, we are on a hiding to nothing.
Zappa 0
Completely agree with the call for a mass protest, but I don't agree with calling for fans not to enter the stadium to support the team. If we can beat Hearts tomorrow night, then it narrows the gap and could cause Hearts to start wobbling themselves. If they start dropping points over the next couple of months the league title might not be out of our reach after all.

the gunslinger 3,366
Giving any money to this board is counter productive. If you have a ticket already I wouldn't go but can see why most would.

That's what he has at Newcastle and let me choose my words carefully here, they are a very loyal, yet perhaps gullible bunch of cheery northern lads...
