It all blew over in a couple of weeks. Those were less frenzied, more sensible days. No internet, no Facebook, no Twitter, no 24 sports channels and not as many partisan broadcasters and radio stations. Not only does 7-1 hurt as a scoreline, just four words do the same thing - Hampden in the sun. That's how much of a big deal it was. A record gubbing nowadays would be mentioned every week for the next 100 years. People say they are sick hearing about the Lisbon Lions and England winning the World Cup.
