D'Artagnan 173 Posted January 2, 2015 Share Posted January 2, 2015 I don't know or care to know anything about Toxic Jack, Merlin, McMurdo, Old Uncle Tom Cobley and all but Rangers are going to require more or less a new team at the end of this season whether we gain promotion or not. Regardless of whether we are in the SPFL next season that team will need to be upgraded gradually over the next two or three seasons at least until hopefully we start to feature regularly in Europe again and can become self-financing. So it is a legitimate question to ask of Ashley, Los Tres Amigos, or any other individual or group of individuals seeking to gain control of the Club, exactly how much and by what means they intend funding the re-establishment of the Club from it's current hand to mouth existence. It is a legitimate question BH. But one thing is for sure - having people within the boardroom who are going to work for the benefit of RFC, rather than their own self survival or on behalf of others with a vested interest, is going to increase the likliehood of us being able to operate free from that hand to mouth existence you refer to. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

However those asking after their quisling attitudes to previous regimes is laughable. I have said this before and I will say it again we need a dozen players of international quality and the sooner the better. I have said this before and I will say it again we need a dozen players of international quality and the sooner the better. Whether that's possible now after the **** perfect storm I don't know. It might have to be done in stages instead of one season. Even if we do manage to sneak up this season, next season wont be pretty with us at best a distant second. Of course all this is dependant on getting in a proper management team and some good scouting. The gap behind the scum is not huge and quite easily catchable as they have been downgrading their quality at a welcoming rate since our troubles, but it will take a lot of things to align which at present are light years away from so doing. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The first step is getting to 25 percent and I suspect that's safe enough. Then we need control of the board. Aberdeen and DU have barely an "international class" player between them and they are knocking heavily on Celtics door. what we need is a good sound business plan with a progressive budget that increases as our income increases. that demands that the manager gets an attractive , improving team on the park before he gets the next swathe of cash to spend. that way you build back to the top with all your departments functioning properly and within budget. I sincerely hope this three bears get it sorted but if they revert to Ally and Walter and start throwing millions we don't have on a speculative attempt to get back on top in season one then I wont be there .. this will surely be the last chance to get it right!!! 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Bluedell 5,624 Posted January 2, 2015 Share Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Bill has really set a few people on the back foot, after all what has changed except the names on share certs, Laxey via Kingsnorth have all but admitted they were powerless against Ashley, even with 16% shareholding. What will the new share holders be able to enforce against Ashley that the Laxey camp failed to. It isn't Ashley as such. The directors could rebel as hey did with the recently disclosed emails and he would lose his control. There will be no share issue it will be a rights issue if any at all, the share issue was voted down by RF and RST amongst others. Err, a rights issue IS a share issue. The ability for the directors to allocate the shares to whoever they want, ie Ashley was voted down by RF and RST and could well be a masterstroke. If there is a rights issue then it could well be a great opportunity for others to increase their holding. Ashley may well look to sell his rights as what point is there for him to buy more shares?
