der Berliner 3,813
Mike Ashley and Rangers dual interest hearing postponed by Scottish FA A hearing into a possible breach of Scottish FA rules by Rangers and Mike Ashley has been postponed. A judicial panel was expected to sit on Tuesday to hear whether the Newcastle United owner was in contravention of rules by holding a dual interest in football clubs. Ashley is accused of influencing the management of Rangers through the appointment of chief executive Derek Llambias and finance director Barry Leach to the club's board. Llambias was formerly the chief executive at Newcastle United, while Leach was head of brands at Sports Direct. STV understands a conference call will instead be held between all parties to discuss the possible breach, with the governing body optimistic Ashley himself will participate. Ashley, who holds a nine per cent shareholding in Rangers, has failed to clarify his role with the club since providing secured loans to the value of £3m in the last two months to meet working capital needs. He is also being charged with failing to behave towards the Scottish FA and its members with "the utmost good faith". Rangers themselves are accused of breaching three rules in relation to the matter, including failing to act with the utmost good faith, failing to declare Ashley's influence at the club and failing to act in the best interests of the game. STV Wel, well ...

So it's not postponed then? It probably is. There's no suggestion that the conference call will take place tomorrow. It may well be another stalling measure. Even if Ashley is on the call, I doubt he will say anything.
Calgacus 8
That's what I'm hoping for. Could you explain why that is what you are hoping for?

So it's not postponed then? Yes, it has been postponed. There will be no judicial panel handing out punishments or forgiveness, but there will be a meeting to discuss the situation.
