Rangersitis 0
you use self respect, justifiable and right to describe what is no more than defeatism. The club will remain soulless for as long as the fans do. We are the life blood and the soul not the corporate entity grabbing the reigns. The club does not have an opinion or soul or show respect, men do. The club is a vehicle for our collective thinking, wants and desires, a vehicle that has been hijacked at this time. Absolutely nothing says we cannot get it back other than or subservience and defeatism. Its a matter of want. never mind the nonsense about Rangers being a toxic brand in society, society is the majority view, we are the majority. We are certainly hated but not across society at large although it does seem that way at times. The penny may have dropped.
buster. 5,183
where? Lost is just the opposite of found. You can only lose if you had it in the first place therefore you can have it again unless its dead. The club is not dead. I very much get the feeling that this is the 'achilles heel' in the Ashely plan....and for that matter, all other holders of onerous contracts. The Rangers support is inclined to see everything in terms of bravado where loyalty is trumpeted, defeatism condemned and 'no surrender' lauded, but the world has changed. This is the language of caricature where everything is seen as a battle to fight and with military terms flying around as though they actually mean something. In the real and practical world, people make decisions more rationally and calmly, and rather than manning imaginary barricades, people look at the situation in the round and are guided by their best wisdom. That's why they will not actively support a club whose ownership is repugnant to them. Edited December 23, 2014 by Hildy

You mean the soulless corporate entity that is shedding traditon and embracing SD franchise. That has no respect for the support, doesn't want to engage with them, misleads them through serial spin but want's their cash.

That's why they will not actively support a club whose ownership is repugnant to them. its no caricature it is a realism of life. You get nothing you do not fight for. In your explanation of fans behaviour there is no room for 45000 after relegation to the third division. Passion is real and can be ignited by the smallest spark. Decisions are not made rationally and calmly in the real world if that was so ,we would not be human. As for they do not support, they clearly do.18000 or so turn up but how many paid for tickets? How many will continue to pay for tickets? All it would take is one decent transfer market expenditure and that figure would rise. The starting of a scouting network would be enough to spark some to life again. Fans are fickle but at the end of the day they will jump for any carrot when their passions are invoked. Another truism is the fans will not continue to support the current level and decay will continue but that will be the main thing Llambias took from yesterday. That is what he is there to decide what it would take to fool the fans. He will make changes for the better to both team and infrastructure, it would be extremely naive to believe other wise. That's not to say he is therefore good for us. He is not. But you can bet your last dollar he will do enough to pull the wool over enough eyes to secure Ashley's wants. That will be the real fight, now when everyone's eyes are open. now is our best chance of getting them out quick. It would be crass stupidity to think Ashley is not an intelligent man, greedy yes, pond scum most likely, out for his own wants at the detriment of ours, most definitely, stupid enough to not to realise the line to not cross, not likely. Would we be better with him gone ,definitely. will he do enough to insure the club survives for him to achieve his goals ,yup. The fight against Ashley will be far longer than you seem to expect. Death of the club is not on the cards and anyone with the intelligence to amount billions will see how to achieve that. He might be here for the long haul but even then he will be gone one day. Rangers will live on. Edited December 23, 2014 by trublusince1982

Rangers will live on. Much of what you say is true. However, the crux and the question you don't broach is what kind of Rangers will or might live on ? This has already been discussed. And this is where you seem to advocating some kind of 'long', 'cheque is in the post' type of war (just keep spending your money)....You might aswell be George Bush at the beginning of the century. Yesterday it was about immediate action, now it's the 'long war' and Llambias should be given a chance. You are sending out confused messages, which almost sound like you were trying to sell something but struggling to find a sweet spot, that's because there isn't one. Rangers will live on. You have just revealed your real plan to defeat Ashley. You know that they are there for the sake of SD and that they will try to fool the support by throwing out a few crumbs, yet you are prepared to eat as much shit as is needed until the day that they choose to depart. I don't expect you to agree with anyone over the theory of starting up a new team, but after what you have just stated, please don't try to take the moral high ground by labelling others who do see the attraction of it as defeatist. They expected that new owners would always be good for
