BrahimHemdani 1
he doesn't need us to be successful, he just needs us to continue by doing just enough. he's made plenty the last two years without spending a penny towards establishing a decent club or infrastructure. now the shit is hitting the fan he will cut costs to match reduced revenue and do the minimum possible to convince fans he's altruistic. don't confuse that for a need of us being successful . #1 Rangers are an n times bigger brand than Newcastle will ever be #2 He needs us to be playing in the SPFL and Europe to make it worth his while to invest and get a return through increased markets and sales. Going back to my points: The fans did have the opportunity to buy the company out of insolvency and didn't take it. Boycotting the Club by not attending matches is indeed completely counter productive. Tell me what those who have stayed away from home matches have achieved other than increasing the amount that Rangers need to borrow or issue new shares to cover? Did one Director resign because of reduced attendances or one institution sell their shares? Little General 80
#2 He needs us to be playing in the SPFL and Europe to make it worth his while to invest and get a return through increased markets and sales. no he doesn't, he has got what he wants already through his onerous contract. that's why he has put his own people on board to protect his onerous contract. where are you getting this nonsense from?
BrahimHemdani 1
lambias wanted ally to stay and appointed Kenny McDowell to replace him and some people believe Ashley wants us to be successful. that's counter intuitive. Ally made his own position untenable and we can't afford to employ two managers at the same time, so promoting McDowall was probabaly the only possible solution. If he takes us up he'll probably get the gig, but if not he'll be let go for sure.

Do you have the details of the contract between SD and Rangers? Whatever SD get from the current situation, I very much doubt that Mr Ashley is the type of person will want to stand still.
Hildy 0
Ally made his own position untenable and we can't afford to employ two managers at the same time, so promoting McDowall was probabaly the only possible solution. If he takes us up he'll probably get the gig, but if not he'll be let go for sure. 'If not' isn't an option. Any new owner with genuine ambition would not have given the Rangers gig to someone who has never been a manager before. Any new owner wanting to see Rangers succeeding at a good level would be doing whatever it took to make sure Rangers were promoted this season, preferably in the automatic spot, but the job has been given to an underling, and when there is so much at stake, this is not the action of an ambitious new owner. This is an appointment that has taken less than five minutes to think up. If the club isn't going to demonstrate ambition, the fans can hardly be blamed for staying away. We're being laughed at by the rest of Scottish football. They cannot believe that the club is in the care of a regime so utterly clueless.

Do you think it benefits Rangers?
BrahimHemdani 1
bUt you have said Ashley needs Rangers in SPFL/Europe. why is he not bringing in a manager to get us there? Because right now the Club is already having to pay one manager for the next 12 months and can't afford another. I can only assume that in the judgement of the Ashley & the Directors KMcD can take us up to the SPFL after that it's a whole new team and a whole new ball game; especially if Ally is off the books by then. Also which manager could he bring in that would guarantee the first step of getting to the SPFL with the current squad?

Do you think it benefits Rangers? From the Fans Board Minutes: We’re on a royalty deal with Puma where the club get approx. £10 per shirt sold We’ve leveraged Sports Direct to get us a better deal. Sports Direct gets half of the shirt deal
