trublusince1982 243 Posted December 22, 2014 Share Posted December 22, 2014 That debt was acrued before Ashley got Newcastle. please get your facts correct.Ashley took that debt from a bank which was crippling Newcastle and they now owe him it no not quite right, it was because he didn't do proper due diligence during takeover and all the historical finance agreements had stipulations in place saying they must be paid in full when the club was sold. Ashley had no other option but to take on the debt and takes money from the tv deal each year to pay it off. Think it was the first £15m he took last year. The myth of no interest was blown open when during fans meetings they said the free advertising round the stadium was in lieu of.
