forlanssister 3,114
we stop buying then surely the club has to reduce it's estimated sales target then eventually he will get less, but you are right he will still get a minimum. Just hope that it is a variable based on predicted sales and not a fixed amount of sales that the club have to guarantee regardless of the previous year actuals... mind you wouldn't be surprised if we are locked into something like that.. Think about how the club came to owe £411k to SD, it wouldn't be because SD are guaranteed a certain level of profit but the club are not would it?
forlanssister 3,114
I can't get my head round this Could you please explain in laymans, step by step terms, how the "1M" profit becomes worth XXM to the SD share price. Or point to somewhere I could read up on it. Sorry to be a pain but I just don't understand this. Can you do a "explanation for dummies" guide? Do you mean every million he makes - say from Newcastle or anywhere else tied to SD is also worth "11.7m? PS And how can I get my monthly income to multiply 11.7 times too, please? gunslingers link should tell you all you need to know http://www.investopedia.com/university/peratio/peratio1.asp Also it's important to realise that SD do not pay dividends but reinvest for capital growth instead so the P/E ratio is important to him, Ashley's shares in SD are currently worth just over £2 billion.

Royalties are payments based on items sold. It's been described as the worst merchandise in history from a clubs point of view ,I'd be amazed if SD haven't protected themselves.
