elfideldo 411
Sounds like his rolling contract has been binned and he's took the huff about it
buster. 5,186
Not surprised he's resigned but strange timing. At no point since May 2011 has anything been remotely 'normal' at Rangers. This (AMcC as manager) will probably be over sooner, rather than later. Would like to know what has happened to bring matters to a sudden head this morning Edited December 12, 2014 by buster.
Ser Barristan Selmy 222
Imagine they appointed McDowall or Durrant as manager . That really ruin Walter's legacy.
buster. 5,186
Sounds like his rolling contract has been binned and he's took the huff about it They can't change his contract without agreement from McCoist/McCormick or complying with terms. SteveC 150
It is understood he has tendered his resignation. According to one report, he will leave the club when his contract runs out at the end of the season. Another report has suggested that the board will attempt to broker a deal that will see McCoist leave earlier than that as Rangers battle to close the nine-point gap between them and Hearts at the top of SPFL division one. McCoist has been under intense pressure in recent months. Since Rangers' liquidation and readmission into senior football he has relied on a squad of seasoned players to win promotion from the fourth and third divisions relatively easily. However, this year, many fans feel that policy is not working, leaving the club with a group struggling to win enough points to gain either automatic or play-off promotion to the top tier of Scottish football - and with very few new young talents emerging in the ranks. For many Rangers diehards, one of the final straws was the recent Petrofac Cup 3-2 semi-final defeat by Alloa. McCoist, a true legend in his time as a player at Ibrox, has since had to endure regular chants of "Ally, Ally get to f***". Today's reports, if confirmed, suggest that he is finally ready to walk away from the club he loves. McCoist was a real Ibrox favourite as a player, scoring 355 goals in all and was part of the Rangers team which won nine league titles in a row in the 1980s and 1990s. Rangers refused to comment on the reports. A spokesperson for the club offered a brief "no comment" and it is believed McCoist will travel with the team as usual for the Friday evening league game at Queen of the South in Dumfries. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/u/reports-mccoist-quits-as-rangers-manager.1418391338

Durrant was caretaker manager between PLG and WS. We went 3-0 down to Dunfermline (A) in the Cup, the game finished 3-2.

govan_derriere 3
My feelings in this matter can be summed up in the words of the old Manfred Mann song. "If you've gotta go, go now"!
Rangersitis 0
He seems to be the people's champion because he shows some passion as a player and talks a fairly decent game on the telly. Pretty sure we already have one of those. I would be surprised if Kenny Miller was to make a decent football manager, though often players you wouldn't expect to do well succeed. Having him in charge is absurd though. Making your striker the manager is what a third division side would do. That is why clueless folk like Somers still get to pick the next manager ahead of fans.
