pmu 0
According to Twitter he has handed in his notice. They won't be able to reject that. his notice would be one year. So he either stays in the job until the notice period ends or they pay him to go now. THey cant reject his handing in notice, but they can reject any payments. problem is if they keep him how can that be effective. I say tell him he can stay if wants for a year then undermine him at every opportunity , like bring in a dof that "interferes in selection etc" we need rid of him as equally as we need rid of the board.
craig 5,199
If he has handed in his notice there must be a reason as he has had plenty of reason previously and hasn't done so. And, dependent upon the reason, if they reject it one has to wonder whether he would have a cause for "constructive dismissal".... this could end up ugly. Or I would be way off track.

We cant afford a DOF. No matter who it is. And McCoist has suffered a lot of off-field stuff over the last almost 3 years - bringing in a DOF wont have that much of a bearing on him. What an absolute basket case we have become when we are actually suggesting to use nefarious means to remove our manager from his position - all integrity and dignity has been completely drained from our Club. What a sad existence our Club leads these days.

Something must have happened yesterday afternoon following the pre-match presser yesterday. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that there was a rumour Ally had a meeting Llambias and was told certain players were likely to be shipped out in the January window while a list of others whose contracts end in May/June weren't going to be offered new deals. Then there's Mark Dingwall's piece of info that Ally's secretary who's been with the club for 40 years was made redundant and left yesterday morning having been given only the minimum redundancy pay allowed by law.

the gunslinger 3,366
if ally has resigned then they can't stop him. if they don't pay him off he stays for a year and no secrecy clause will be applicable. they can put him on gardening leave or pay up his contract or leave him in charge.
the gunslinger 3,366
http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/revealed-ally-mccoist-quitting-rangers-4798106 GARY RALSTON exclusively reveals why the manager felt it was time to call it a day at the club he has served as a player and manager for 20 years. ALLY McCOIST quit as Rangers boss to return the focus of attention to the scandal of the mismanagement of the Ibrox club. McCoist tendered his resignation to football board chairman Sandy Easdale because recent poor performances of his side were beginning to take centre stage. One source claims McCoist could still have a role to play in the future fortunes as a shareholder with around two per cent of club stock. The timing of McCoist’s resignation, which was announced just hours before the game against Queen of the South, has surprised many. However, it’s believed McCoist has been considering his future for several weeks as savage cost cutting and redundancies to long serving staff eventually took their toll. One source said: “A lot of good people have been leaving Ibrox recently - most of them not by choice. “I know Ally will be devastated. Rangers are as much a part of his life as he is of its history. “There has been an increasing level of noise around his position recently and that has deflected attention from the real issues. “He’s putting Rangers and the supporters first and by stepping back maybe the spotlight might shine on the club and its future - as well as those responsible for its future. “Everyone knows significant funding is required and they will have to provide answers to shareholders at the forthcoming agm. “The club has been ravaged in recent months. Many people with Rangers at their core have been paid off, as if the wages of a maintenance man or admin woman can even remotely make up for the vast sums of money that have been haemmorhaged from the place these last few years. “McCoist has been dealing in the tears and heartache of good, honest people, as well as trying to keep a team on track for successive promotions. “I’m sure he’s aware his side could be better - and losing the recent cup tie to Alloa in the way they did recently was painful. “However, it can be argued very easily he has been more to keep that club together than anyone else. “How many managers could cope with administration, liquidation, Whyte, Green, Ahmad and all the rest of them while ensuring the team progresses through the divisions?” McCoist will spend the festive season and beyond recharging his batteries after the most draining and emotionally bruising period of his life. But the source suggested he could still have a role to play in future and, with a sizeable shareholding and the trust of the Rangers support, he could even become a kingmaker for future regimes. The source added: “He isn’t walking away. He might be taking a rest and recharging after the most physically and emotionally draining period of his life and career - almost four years. “However, the club is too big a part of him. He’ll always support them and stand with the fans. “He believes in them and will continue to do his best by them. It’s important to remember McCoist’s career has been marked by a determination to succeed and win. “Knowing him, this might not be the end.” __________________ Edited December 12, 2014 by the gunslinger
