ian1964 10,724
Rangers will reject Ally McCoist's letter of resignation, BBC Scotland understands. Most of the Scottish Championship club's board are in London for the next 48 hours and no talks are planned. The 52-year-old former Rangers and Scotland striker tendered his resignation on Thursday. But, as it stands, he will be in charge for Friday evening's Scottish Championship fixture against Queen of the South - until told otherwise. McCoist has a 12-month rolling contract with the Glasgow club, who are refusing to comment officially at present. So either the club pays his salary up in full, comes to a settlement, or keep him in place for the next 12 months. Rangers stress that McCoist will be in Dumfries for Friday evening's match at Palmerston Park.

SteveC 150
Essentially, Rangers find themselves in a position where they cannot afford the pay-off, so they are rejecting it. They may see this as the next move in an effort to talk Ally into accepting less if he wants to leave in a hurry, but what we actually have now is a lame duck manager with a lame duck club. Yes, it's all very worrying. Can see Ally not being there in anything but legal terminology and Durrant being manager in effect until this time next year. Unless he refuses to do it too, so McDowell unless he refuses too...so D Wise or some other bugger Ashley controls. The board apparently are too busy (i.e. unconcerned by s as a club) to even issue a statement far less talk about it.

SteveC 150
Goram on SSN saying Ally is wonderful, been a great success - as the interviewer thinks too (they have no idea the standard we are playing against) and the fans have given him vile abuse
Dragonfly Trumpeter 50
Whatever else is going on, McCoist is on the team bus to Palmerston now.
Dragonfly Trumpeter 50
My feelings in this matter can be summed up in the words of the old Manfred Mann song. "If you've gotta go, go now"! Manfred Mann, famous for having a bass player from Fraserburgh. And not much else

Mountain Bear 0
Stan Collymore on Twitter mocking McCoist for "walking away". Blocked me for asking if he was still jealous, given Ulrika was with Ally when he beat her to a pulp. Touchy guy. [emoji56]
Blue Moon 1,289
As far as I am concerned it is another nail in the board's coffin if they reject McCoist's resignation. He has to go.
