26th of foot 6,082
Apparently, Stephen Thompson is in a state of seethe. A Solicitor friend in Dundee suggested that Jum Spence(the former Law lecturer) advised Thompson to plough the two year existence furrow. Sad really, as Zappa says, such potential for a paltry sum. The Satsumas will sell Telfer for several times that amount, in 18 months. Wee Jum Spence will once again have to sit naked, on Thompson's lap and feed him peeled grapes.
26th of foot 6,082
Having read the Dundee United statement, my ghast is truly flabbered. Interesting, they band on about young players' mobility and choosing club contracts carefully. This millennium, Dundee United were still insisting 16 year olds sign NINE year contracts.
elfideldo 411
Not sure how they came to the 34k per season figure as the rules are pretty clear. This now means that anyone thinking of following a similar route may not have any club willing to take the chance.
Darthter 542
As a general statement, it actually makes some sense.....however, it simply doesn't apply to the current circumstances. Whether Telfer was getting a 1st team game at Rangers is immaterial, the panel felt that we were due compensation for the time & effort that was put into developing the player to where he is now - ready to waltz into the DUFC 1st team.
