What does McCulloch earn? He was on £20k and I don't remember it being announced he was taking a wage cut. He got to levels way beyond his ability. Motherwell in the SPL was the limit of his talent.

He took a wage cut however whatever he is on is too much, he is a player who could leave today and we wouldn't miss him. Infact it would stop Ally having to shoehorn him in.

My guess (and it always was based on player accounts at the time) is that Green purposely didn't speak to the players about transferring via TUPE and deliberately left them in the dark about what was happening because he wanted as many as possible to leave knowing that there was no way he and his wide boy cronies could afford to pay the exorbitant player wages even up until the end of the transfer window. For all we know, some of those who left might even have been secretly ASKED to leave in the manner they did, but swore to keep their mouths shut about it.

Good to see you back, but let's not get personal with fellow posters, even if they infuriate you. ;)

I agree with everything apart from the emboldened bit ;)

My first post....So sad Naismith had to leave us,but I can understand why he did,but not the way he went..He should have left quietly and said nothing and then maybe the fans might then have forgave him,but to go with a press conference was wrong

Is that avatar a picture of Torry Gillick ?

Reason I ask is we took a group of youths from Bermuda last year to RFC for a residential training course, tournament, stadium tour etc. One of our Bermuda coaches is called Torry.... he saw Gillick's name on the Hall of Fame Board and now calls himself Torry Gillick.... I might have to get a picture of Torry Gillick framed for him :D

I'm not convinced Naismith would have been forgiven - part of my thinking on it is because a) he is one of us b) he was clearly our best player and c) he had suffered a couple of serious injuries at the Club - people will tend to have more anger at those they miss the most

You're right. But he could have made it a hell of a lot easier on himself but not saying what he said. He still could if he can out and said he shouldn't have said it.
