In all seriousness Robbie Neilson isn't a bad idea. Looks to be taking a long term approach with the team and it'd hurt our main rivals no end.

The 'secret' at Hearts isn't any particular individual.........although Ann Budge stakes a claim.

It's on and off field strategies that everyone throughout the club is buying into and that seem to be functioning well. They have created a positive energy and momentum. Neilsen seems to be a good fit for his role within the footballing operation/strategy.

Frankly, we are the opposite and have forced our way up the leagues by weight of wallet but no vision or credible strategy (other than for sp.ivs to fill wheelbarrows). It's no accident that the metro bank account is empty, 100M should have seen us in a strong position going forward.

Neilson has Jack and Leveins ear though. He isn't doing it all himself. Even Alexander is helping with the coaching. Hearts have an excellent set up up top to bottom and a very strong ambitious coaching team.

personally don't think we should go for any British candidate they generally neither bring the type of football we desire or fit into our wage structure we can offer. Should say before i go any further I do not believe anyone within the club has the wherewithal to make any decision other than a bad one when it comes to management. Ashley's cohorts have shown over their tenure at Newcastle that they are no judge of manager and their choices resulted in millions of pounds wasted. Easdales and the rest show no history or suggest any real knowledge of football. King and co if they get in I imagine will go for the buddy route of selection

Think it should be more along the lines of an amalgamation than one person. To fit our wants we would need to drastically improve our budgets to attract a candidate that personifies everything we require.

Personally would like to see a strict disciplinarian with high motivational strengths able to encourage a "us and them" mentality with a no surrender attitude. Along with that an emphasis on technical training and an attacking mentality and style of play with an eye to young emerging talent.

first candidate in a Bilic mould the second with a dutch mentality/back ground or technical/youth based pedigree like Ian Cathro. would suit me. Obviously neither of they two would come only use them as examples.

Both will need to come from lower levels within Europe with a history of working as part of a team.

Unfortunately I dont think we have anyone at the club who has the personal knowledge or the contacts within the game to make that a reality, far more likely we will end up with a poor replacement from the usual suspects. X player or managed at low level in Scotland with one good year marking them out from the crowd.

The biggest factor in possible managerial change at our club, is Mike Ashley. He is paying a most demanding piper on a monthly basis. The obvious reference is Newcastle United, where he awarded Alan Pardew with an eight year contract. All his business dealings highlight fierce loyalty to an inner circle. Newcastle fans have regularly vented dissatisfaction with Pardew, but Ashley has remained loyal and at this moment United sit fifth in the Premiership.

Will Ally vow undying loyalty to Mike?
