Super Cooper 0
Shocking from Smith simply looking after his pal. He should have been man enough to admit he made an arse of it by recommending Ally.
Super Cooper 0
Walter spent almost £40m in his second stint and seen our debt for from nothing to £33m back down to £18m. Of course he spent money we didn't have, that was how Murray operated.
the gunslinger 3,366
And left us turning a profit with debts of 14 million and players worth much more than that. Debt isn't the whole story. A mortgage of 50k on a million pound house is money you dont have but its not an issue.

Ser Barristan Selmy 222
Even now Smith doesn't seem to realise he was spending money we didn't have, another who will hear nothing said against Murray.“I was fortunate enough to be given great support by the likes of David Murray with the signings I was allowed to make". That bit that stuck out for me as well.
quattro 0
I could be wrong but I am pretty sure WS said the bank were running the club, do banks step in to run businesses that are being run prudently and are on a sound financial footing.

No. We were an absolute mess, only league wins and a few European campaigns got Walter out of jail.
Zappa 0
“Where is he now? Costa Rica or somewhere? The wee b******.” A Walter classic!
craig 5,199
Smith is having a laugh. hes passed on all he knows to Ally and the end product is there for all to see. Walter i would have sacked you in the ninties, sacked you for trying to win a Uefa cup final on penalties and sacked you after kuanus. We couldnt have picked a worse manager to mentor mccoist. Yet funnily enough it was that same manager that gave us some of the most enjoyable nights we have ever witnessed. Only one other manager got us to a European final. He also gave us 3-in-a-row despite being given little money to spend in his 2nd stint. Yes, there were failures, but he also had his share of successes - but for the 3-in-a-row we would probably have went under before we eventually did. Sometimes people just want to see the worst in everyone else. Such a shame, given the years that Walter gave the Club.

Davis, Naismith and McGregor would have seen that debt at around 5 million. Wouldn't have been difficult to achieve.
